Setup and Registration
Welcome to Impose-X digital
stripping software.
You will be able to create and
output watermarked PDF page layouts for 30 days after a new installation. If
you require a non-watermarked production demo or a full use license, you will
need to register the software.
Registration is easy:
1.
Start Impose-X by
double-clicking on the program icon.
2.
At initial startup, you will
see a window with registration information. This will give you the name and
location of the registration file. The default folder is “\program
files\impose-x\license”, and the file name is “license.xml”. Email this file to
mailto:support@nuglyphix.com along
with your company name, address and phone number. You can attempt to email this
file directly from Impose-X by following the Admin/Register Modules menu and
clicking on the Send Registration Email button. Impose-X will try to create an
email with a registration file attachment using the registered email client the
installation computer. If this computer is not connected to the Internet, or
the email cannot be sent for any other reason, we will not receive your
registration request.
3.
You will receive a return email
from Nuglyphix with an attachment named “license.xml”. Save this file in a
memorable folder on your hard drive or network.
4.
Select the Impose-X
Admin/Register Modules menu: this will open the Register Extension Modules
window. Click on the Import Registration File button to browse to the
“license.xml” file sent to you by Nuglyphix and double click on the file or
select it and click the OK button. Your registration information should update
in the Register Extension Modules window.
Starting to Use the Program
Once Impose-X is registered,
you may want to open some of the demonstration layouts to get an idea of the
program’s capabilities and testing the output.
As of this writing, there are
four demonstration layouts installed by Impose-X:
·
Demo-book.cbp – created using a
fold built by the Book Fold module
·
Demo-cards-template.cti and
demo_tempate.cti – created using templates built by the Template Imposition
module.
·
Demo-packaging.cml - a packaging layout created using the CAD
Packaging module.
All of these layouts have PDF
page assignments from PDF documents included by the installer. After
registering Impose-X, you may output these layouts by clicking on the Generate
Output toolbar button. The Generate Output window will appear. Do not worry
about the options there at this time, simply click the OK button and you will
be asked to browse to an output folder for the PDF layout. You do not need to
enter a filename in the Select Output Folder window, the output file will be
named automatically. After you click the Select button at the bottom of the
window the layout should generate a PDF file. You may view this file with a PDF
viewer such as Acrobat, or print it if you wish.
Use the Help menu to display
the User Guide for detailed information about using Impose-X. There is also a
PDF version of the help documentation in the UserGuide sub-folder of the
Impose-X install location.
